Intesa Sanpaolo will make a further thousand hires, in addition to the 2,500 already provided for by the trade union agreement of 29 September 2020 signed with Fabi, First Cisl, Fisac Cgil, Uilca Uil and Unisin, aimed at a generational change without social impacts and the enhancement of people of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group resulting from the acquisition of Ubi Banca, with which at least 5,000 people were given the opportunity to request voluntary retirement or the Solidarity Fund.
The generational change project
The banking group, following the verification carried out with the trade unions regarding the achievement of at least 5 thousand voluntary exits, intends in fact to accept all the over 7,200 voluntary subscriptions validly received and consequently proceed, as requested by the trade unions, to a total of 3,500 hires that will be finalized within the first half of 2024. All based on the trade union agreement signed on 30 December 2020 regarding the treatment of the 5,107 people included in the business unit to be transferred to Bper Banca. The trade union procedure will be launched in the coming weeks in relation to the merger by incorporation of Ubi Banca into the parent company Intesa Sanpaolo.

Messina’s satisfaction
«With the hiring of a thousand people who are added to the 2,500 already scheduled – comments Carlo Messina, CEO of the banking group – we are giving further impetus to generational turnover and to support employment. Intesa Sanpaolo continues to invest in young people, the strong point of the country. In a context of considerable complexity we want to give a concrete signal marked by optimism towards the future. The people of Intesa Sanpaolo are our main asset, we will be stronger thanks to these young people. I thank the trade unions with which relations continue to be one of esteem, respect and fruitful collaboration, always at the service of Intesa Sanpaolo’s growth. We continue – adds Messina – to take on as a demonstration of the solidity of a group which, with increased attractiveness for new talents and greater opportunities for professional and career growth, confirms its leadership role at the Italian and European level ».
