Badlands Eyes $60 Million Global Box Office Opening

Predator: ⁢Badlands‘ Roars to $60 Million Global Box Office Debut

The latest ‌installment in the Predator franchise, Badlands, has launched wiht a $60 million worldwide gross, signaling⁣ strong audience interest ‌in the continuation of the sci-fi action⁣ series. The film’s‌ opening⁣ performance positions it as a key player in the late-summer box office landscape ⁣and demonstrates the enduring ⁤appeal of the Predator brand.

While⁤ figures are still coming in, Badlands benefited from targeted international marketing, particularly in territories where previous Predator ⁣films have⁤ performed well. Excluding China, the​ 2018 Predator movie achieved its highest ⁤grosses in Mexico, the UK, Japan, Australia, Brazil, and major European markets, ultimately reaching $146⁣ million globally with $95 million from international box office. ‌this established a foundation for the current film’s international rollout.

To build momentum, cast members including Amber Midthunder, Dane DiLiegro,‌ and director Dan trachtenberg engaged in promotional activities. These included a special IMAX screening at‍ the BFI Waterloo in london, a panel at MCM⁢ Comic-con London, and⁢ an appearance at SDCC Malaga in September.

Alongside ​ Predator:⁢ Badlands, a number of upscale adult films⁢ are debuting in North American theaters, each ⁢projected⁢ to earn between $1 million ⁤and $4​ million. These include Black Bear’s Christy, starring Sydney‌ Sweeney and based on the life of boxer ​Christy Martin⁢ (2,000 theaters, 66% fresh on⁣ Rotten Tomatoes);​ Sony Pictures Classics and Walden media’s Nuremberg (1,700⁤ theaters, 68% fresh RT); Amazon MGM Studios/Kingdom Story Company’s Sarah’s Oil; and Mubi’s $24 million acquisition, the‌ Jennifer‌ Lawrence-Robert⁣ Pattinson ​drama Die My Love (1,900 theaters, 79% fresh).
