nagoya D U18 and Hokkaido U18 to Clash in B.LEAGUE U18 Championship Final
UTSUNOMIYA, Tochigi Prefecture – The championship matchup is set for the INFRONIA B.LEAGUE U18 CHAMPIONSHIP 2025, with Nagoya D U18 and hokkaido U18 set to battle for the title on Wednesday, November 26th, at 1:00 p.m. at Nikkan Arena Tochigi. The final pits the defending champions, Nagoya D U18, against Hokkaido U18, who are seeking to reclaim their dominance after a previous three-year winning streak from 2021-2023.
This contest represents a compelling rivalry, with both programs recently achieving championship success. Nagoya D U18 ended a frustrating run as runners-up last year, led by current top team member Yuto Imanishi. Hokkaido U18, spearheaded by Yoyu Naito (also now with the top team), secured a three-peat before Nagoya’s victory. Despite their recent history, Hokkaido U18 coach Takuya Saito admitted, ”No, I’m not used to it at all. In fact, it’s an opponent I don’t want to fight against.” Nagoya D U18 coach Yamashita echoed the competitive spirit, noting the friendly relationship between players and revealing a pre-tournament agreement: “Actually, as we were living in the same dormitory and our breakfast times overlapped, I told Mr. Saito, ‘On the morning of the final day, let’s eat together (= let’s compete in the finals).'”
The road to the final saw Nagoya D U18 defeat SR Shibuya 72-58, while Hokkaido U18 overcame Osaka 66-54 in the semifinals on Tuesday, November 25th. The third-place deciding match between SR Shibuya and Osaka will precede the final at 11:00 a.m.
The INFRONIA B.LEAGUE U18 CHAMPIONSHIP 2025, held from november 22nd to November 26th, features 40 teams competing in a knockout tournament format under the “2025 Basketball Rules (Official Basketball Rules 2024).” The top four teams will qualify for the “Infronia B.LEAGUE U18 INTERNATIONAL CUP 2026.”
