ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Police apprehended a man attempting to transport approximately $3 million worth of drugs from the Atlanta airport to Brazil.

On June 28, Customs and Border Protection agents and Atlanta police officers seized over 52 pounds of marijuana and THC products from an individual departing from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for Sao Paulo, Brazil, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

The man, identified as Vance Ray Randolph, was arrested after officers and agents discovered the following in his luggage:

  • 12.35 pounds of THC wax
  • 34.39 pounds of hashish
  • 4.6 pounds of marijuana
  • 1.21 pounds of “pasty marijuana”

The drugs have an estimated street value of $2.97 million.

The department posted a video to its Facebook page showcasing the seizure.

Randolph was booked into the Clayton county jail on “narcotics violation charges.”
