Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd inquire about FC Bayern’s Lennart Karl
Three Premier League clubs have contacted FC Bayern to inquire about the situation of 18-year-old offensive talent Lennart Karl. Representatives from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United have reached out to the German record champions as discussion swirls around the young midfielder’s status in Munich.
Uli Hoeneß Assesses Karl's Standing at Bayern
The outreach from English football follows recent public scrutiny surrounding Karl’s trajectory at the club. Bayern patron Uli Hoeneß addressed the young player’s current standing, stating that Karl is not yet a superstar, requires humility, and that comparisons to Olise are unhelpful because significant distance remains between them. These remarks coincided with questions regarding whether the player feels alienated by the club.
BILD football chief Christian Falk, speaking on the Bayern-Insider broadcast alongside reporter Julian Agardi, noted that Karl’s current market value sits at approximately 60 million euros. Falk pointed out that Premier League clubs can comfortably afford that valuation, and confirmed that formal discussions regarding a new contract have not yet taken place. Karl’s current professional contract runs through 2029, having been converted from a youth agreement upon his 18th birthday.
Bayern Intends to Keep Karl for Long-Term Plans
Addressing questions over whether the player might leave, Agardi reported that Bayern has no intention of pushing the youngster out or selling him cheaply. As a product of the club’s own academy, Karl is factored into long-term plans.
This financial resilience was reinforced by sport director Jan-Christian Dreesen. In an interview with Sport Bild, the 59-year-old executive emphasized the club's strong economic standing, stating that they can afford any transfer.
