Apple has sent invitations to international media for a “Special Apple Experience” event scheduled for March 4th, signaling the anticipated launch of recent products including the iPhone 17e, updated iPads, and new MacBooks. The event will begin at 3:00 PM German time (9:00 AM EST) and is expected to be live-streamed, though Apple has not confirmed details.

The company’s choice of “Special Apple Experience” rather than the traditional “Apple Event” designation has fueled speculation about the scope of announcements. While Apple has remained tight-lipped regarding specifics, industry analysts predict a range of updates across its product lines.

The iPhone 17e is expected to be a new entry in Apple’s lineup, positioned as a more affordable option. But, It’s not expected to include the “Dynamic Island” feature found in higher-end models, and will likely retain a 60Hz display refresh rate and a single rear camera, according to Apple insider Mark Gurman. Despite these limitations, the iPhone 17e is anticipated to feature the A19 Pro processor from the iPhone 17 and support for MagSafe accessories and Apple’s latest wireless chip. The expected price point remains around €699 in Germany.

Apple is also expected to unveil new iPad models. A new iPad Air is rumored to include the M4 chip, offering a significant performance boost. The standard 12th-generation iPad is expected to receive the A18 chip, the same processor found in the iPhone 16, and will support Apple Intelligence features.

On the Mac side, updates are anticipated for both the professional and consumer markets. New MacBook Pros powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are expected, alongside a new MacBook Air with the standard M5 chip. Notably, Gurman has reported on a potentially more affordable MacBook model, featuring a 13-inch LCD display and an A18 Pro processor, previously used in the iPhone 16 Pro. This model is projected to be priced under $1,000 USD, significantly lower than the current entry-level MacBook Air, which retails for $999 USD in the US.

Details surrounding the “Special Apple Experience” remain limited to the event invitation. Apple has not disclosed the specific products that will be unveiled on March 4th.
