Apple Beats Expectations in First Quarterly Report Under CEO John Ternus

Apple Beats Expectations in First Quarterly Report Under CEO John Ternus

November 2, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Apple reported 114,48 milliarder dollar in revenue for the fourth quarter of its shifted 2026 fiscal year, surpassing analyst expectations as strong iPhone and Mac sales propelled the tech giant past Wall Street forecasts. e24.no reported that the results mark the first quarterly financial presentation for Chief Executive Officer John Ternus, who took the helm from Tim Cook on September 1.

The company’s quarterly revenue climbed 12 percent compared to the 102,47 milliarder dollar recorded during the same period last year, beating the 113,47 milliarder dollar consensus estimate compiled by Bloomberg. Diluted earnings per share landed at $2.10, topping the anticipated $2.00 mark and rising 14 percent from the $1.85 per share posted a year earlier. Invezz reported that the net income reached $30.7 billion, aided by a positive effect of five cents from tollrefusjoner, while the gross margin held steady at 47.9 percent.

iPhone and Mac Sales Outpace Wall Street Forecasts

Apples flagship product line brought in 57,58 milliarder dollar during the quarter, easily outpacing the 56,49 milliarder dollar average estimate tracked by Bloomberg and growing more than 17 percent from 49,03 milliarder dollar in the prior-year period.

Mac revenue also surprised to the upside at 10,79 milliarder dollar, beating the 9,7 milliarder dollar expectation. Meanwhile, the company’s services division, spanning the App Store, iCloud, and Apple Music, generated 31,57 milliarder dollar to hit another record high in line with Wall Street projections.

Chip Shortages Push iPhone Prices Higher

The hardware beats materialized against a backdrop of tight component supplies and rising manufacturing expenses. Invezz reported that a global memory chip shortage pushed production costs higher, prompting Apple to raise iPhone prices by $100 as part of broader portfolio adjustments initiated in late June.

Unlike several major tech peers ramping up infrastructure spending for artificial intelligence, Apple held capital expenditures to 9,04 milliarder dollar for the full 2026 fiscal year, down from 12,72 milliarder dollar in the previous year. In the final quarter alone, capital outlays reached $2.24 billion, trailing LSEG estimates of $3.33 billion.

China Revenue Misses Forecasts Before Holiday Season

Geographically, Apple faced headwinds in Greater China, where revenue landed at 17,54 milliarder dollar—missing analyst forecasts despite improving upon the 14,49 milliarder dollar posted a year ago.

Ternus pointed to the incoming holiday season and the rollout of Siri AI alongside the iPhone 18 lineup as key tests for the portfolio. Yet, investors remain pressed to evaluate whether higher entry prices and persistent supply chain bottlenecks will temper consumer demand through the December quarter.
