London Sees Massive Anti-Immigration Protest, Clashes Erupt with Counter-Demonstrators
London – A large-scale exhibition against immigration drew over 100,000 protesters to the streets of London on Saturday, September 13, 2025, according to reports. the protest, organized in part by far-right figure Tommy Robinson, was met by a smaller counter-demonstration, “Stand Up to Racism,” numbering around 5,000.Tensions escalated, leading to clashes between demonstrators and police.
The demonstration reflects growing anxieties surrounding immigration policy in the United Kingdom and builds on recent localized protests at asylum reception centers. This event marks a critically important increase in scale compared to previous anti-immigration demonstrations, fueled by a confluence of factors including recent political events in the United States and domestic concerns over the government’s response to right-wing rhetoric. The protests come after a summer of unrest last year, which Robinson was accused of exacerbating.
Police reported being pelted with objects by demonstrators from the “Unite the Kingdom” group who attempted to breach barriers separating the opposing sides. Law enforcement intervened to prevent direct confrontation, utilizing force to maintain order.
According to correspondent Fleur Launspach, “Today’s demonstration is much larger than expected. Recently, there have frequently enough been anti-immigration protests at asylum reception locations, but on this scale it has not happened for a long time.”
Robinson, via a post on X, urged protesters to remain peaceful, stating: “Take your smile, your flags and your loud voice with you. No masks, no alcohol or violence. Politics and the media are eager to make us fail. Do not give them anything they can stop us.”
