Flights at Lombok International Airport, which neighbors Bali, will remain open during the Hindu holy seclusion day, Nyepi, on March 22-23, 2023. However, Bali Airport will not serve flights during this time. The closure of Bali Airport will affect flight routes between Lombok and Bali, with six flights from Lombok to Bali, five Wings Air flights, and a Citilink flight scheduled on those days. Lombok Airport saw a significant increase in passenger movement during the 2023 World Superbike (WSBK) motorbike racing event, with an average of 6,575 passengers per day from March 1-6, reflecting an increase of 15.4 percent compared to February 2023. The airport has reported that there were 7,000 passengers per day arriving and departing from Lombok Airport ahead of Ramadan.
Antara News reports that Lombok Airport to stay operational during Nyepi Day.
