Keys to a Lost Life found Inside New Amazon Coat
A man’s recent Amazon purchase for his wife turned into a real-life mystery when a set of keys was discovered in the coat’s pocket-leading to a heartwarming reunion with their owner.
The buyer, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased a winter coat online, only to find a surprising addition to the new garment: a set of keys. Suspicions arose that the coat wasn’t new, confirmed when the buyer learned the packaging appeared to have been reused. After discovering the keys, the buyer initially contacted amazon and Apple for assistance, but was advised to deactivate an AirTag found with the keys and turn them over to the police.
Fortunately, the situation took a positive turn when the AirTag’s owner activated the “lost fashion” feature a few days later, allowing them to connect with the buyer. They were able to arrange for the keys to be returned. “Apart from what might be a slight scent of perfume, the coat appears new. But we know that’s not the case,” the buyer told Newsweek. “It is such a weird situation and we coudl return it and buy the same model in store. After all,I don’t want to spend so much money on a new coat and receive a used coat. The packaging it came in looked like what they use to send used products.”
Despite the initial frustration, the buyer expressed relief at being able to return the keys to their rightful owner and now has a memorable story to share. “I decided to publish it because I thought it was an astonishing and funny coincidence,” he said. The incident highlights the increasing reliance on tracking devices like AirTags and the potential for unexpected connections in the age of online shopping.
