Alstom Secures Over 23 Billion Crown Contract to Supply High-Speed Trains to Poland
WARSAW, POLAND - September 4, 2025 - alstom has won a major contract to deliver a fleet of two-story trainsets capable of speeds up to 200 km/h to Poland, valued at more than 23 billion czech crowns (approximately €950 million). The agreement marks a important expansion of alstom’s presence in the Central European rail market and will contribute to modernizing Poland’s rail infrastructure, enhancing connectivity for passengers across the country.
The Polish railway system is undergoing substantial modernization efforts to meet growing passenger demand and integrate with the broader European rail network. this contract,one of the largest of its kind in recent years,will provide Poland with state-of-the-art rolling stock designed for both comfort and efficiency. The new trains are expected to improve travel times and capacity on key routes, supporting economic growth and regional growth. Deliveries are anticipated to begin in the coming years, with the full fleet operational within the decade.
the order encompasses the supply of a new generation of high-capacity,two-level trainsets.These units will be designed to operate on both electrified and non-electrified lines, offering adaptability for deployment across the Polish rail network.
