All Blacks Halfback Cameron Roigard Out for Rugby Championship Opener with Stress Fracture

New Zealand’s Rugby Championship campaign has been hit by a significant injury blow with the news that scrum-half Cameron Roigard has been ruled out of the opening matches due to a stress fracture in his right foot.

The 24-year-old experienced pain following the All Blacks’ recent test series victory over France. subsequent scans confirmed the presence of a stress fracture, forcing him to miss the team’s departure for Argentina on August 17,where they are scheduled to play their first two championship tests in Córdoba.

roigard’s return-to-play timeline is estimated at two weeks. This absence is a considerable setback for head coach Scott Robertson, notably as Noah Hotham has already been sidelined for the entire tournament due to surgery for a high ankle sprain.

Robertson is expected to announce his 36-man travelling squad tommorow at midday. The selection of the remaining two scrum-halves to accompany cortez Ratima on the flight to Argentina will be a key point of interest.
