Air China Launches First International Route with Homegrown Jet

Air China has commenced international flights using the domestically-produced C909 aircraft, connecting northern China and Mongolia in a significant aviation milestone. This expansion signifies China’s growing prowess in aircraft manufacturing and international travel, offering new options for passengers.

New Route Details

The maiden international service, identified as flights CA757 and CA758, will offer seven weekly round trips. These flights will operate between Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia, and Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital. Flight CA757 took off from Hohhot at approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday to initiate the route.

Fleet and Operations

Air China obtained its initial C909 aircraft in 2020. The airline has since expanded its fleet to 35 C909 jets. These planes have collectively accumulated more than 110,000 hours of safe flight. With bases in Beijing, Chengdu, and Hohhot, the C909 aircraft have been deployed across over 30 routes.

“Air China is committed to ensuring safe flight operations, continuously optimizing its route network, and deepening international cooperation and exchange,”
