Lebanese Singer Ragheb Alama Suspended from Performing in Egypt Following Festival Incident

The Syndicate of Musical professions in Egypt has suspended Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama from performing in the country and summoned him for an examination following an incident at the Alamein Festival.The syndicate cited concerns over Alama’s interaction with a fan during his recent performance.

In a statement, the syndicate clarified that the interaction was an expression of love and respect, not as it had been portrayed in some media outlets. Thay described the incident as a kiss on the cheek, emphasizing it was a gesture of affection. The syndicate also placed responsibility on the event’s organizational authority for not implementing stricter measures to ensure the ceremony’s smooth progression.

The Syndicate of Musical Professions highlighted the historical and respectful relationship between the lebanese and Egyptian music communities, noting the personal friendship between Lebanese Captain Farid Abu Saeed and Egyptian Captain Mustafa Kamel.

Ragheb Alama addressed the controversy, stating that the moment with the fan was spontaneous and that the angle of the photograph was misleading. he asserted that his intention is to bring joy to his audience and that expelling fans is not his practice. Alama explained that the fan was expressing her happiness with the performance.
