East Bengal Drawn in Challenging Group for AFC Women’s Champions League
WUHAN, CHINA – kolkata’s East Bengal FC will face a formidable challenge in teh second edition of the AFC Women’s Champions League, having been drawn into Group B alongside defending champions Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC, last season’s quarter-finalists Bam khatoon FC, and Uzbekistan’s PFC Nasaf.
The draw, announced today, places East Bengal in a competitive group with matches scheduled to take place in Wuhan, China, from November 17th to 23rd. The tournament features a total of 12 teams divided into three groups of four,competing in a centralized league format.
AFC Women’s Champions League 2025-26 Groups
- Group A: Melbourne City FC, Ho Chi Minh City women’s FC, stallion Laguna FC, lion City sailors FC
- Group B: Wuhan jiangda women’s FC, Bam khatoon FC, East Bengal FC, PFC Nasaf
- Group C: Suwon FC Women, tokyo Verdy Beleza, Naegohyang Women’s FC, ISPE WFC
East Bengal’s campaign will begin on November 17th against Bam Khatoon FC. They will then face Wuhan Jiangda on November 20th, followed by a match against PFC Nasaf, the record 16-time Uzbekistan Women’s League champions, on November 23rd.
The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, will advance to the knockout rounds following the conclusion of the group stage.
India was previously represented in the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League by Odisha FC, who successfully navigated the preliminary stage to reach the main draw before being eliminated in the group stage. East bengal will aim to build on that initial showing and make a deeper run in the competition.
