iPhone users will gain access to a free, professional-grade video editing app later this month with the launch of Adobe Premiere for iPhone. The reimagined mobile application, announced by Adobe on September 4, aims to deliver powerful creative control previously reserved for desktop editors directly to smartphones.
This release marks a critically important shift in mobile video editing, offering a free choice to existing apps and Adobe’s own Premiere Rush. The new Premiere app will empower social media creators, filmmakers, and enthusiasts to record AI-assisted audio, seamlessly transition projects between mobile and desktop, and directly export content to platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram. Adobe anticipates the app will be available on the App Store starting september 30.
According to Adobe, the app is “reimagined…as a fast, free, and intuitive app that puts pro-level creative control in your hands, without the pro-level complexity.” Users will also have access to Adobe’s generative AI tool, Firefly, within the application.
