Activists Launch US Freedom Convoy to Challenge Israel Influence
The calls to action are clear as a cross-country journey begins: “Iremos a sus comunidades… y romperemos los algoritmos. Saldremos de nuestras burbujas y les demostraremos que la narrativa que han escuchado sobre quiénes son los defensores de los derechos humanos no se corresponde con la imagen que les han vendido,” said Hazami Barmada, co-organizer of the U.S. Freedom Convoy, in a press conference in Los Angeles, while the initiative officially launched on a ten-day trek toward Washington, D.C. along Route 66 involving approximately fifty participants.

The journey brings together religious representatives, human rights advocates, and voters under the banner Stop Israel’s Control Over the United States.
Over the course of ten days, the convoy plans to traverse seventeen states, including Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Activists intend to engage residents in various cities in direct conversations ahead of the November 3 elections. Barmada, whose prior organizing includes a 2024 protest camp outside the residence of former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, acknowledged that the campaign does not expect to instantly shift public opinion regarding Israel, but rather seeks to force a public accounting of foreign influence in domestic politics.
Convoy Delivers Formal Petition to United States Capitol
Upon reaching the nation’s capital, the convoy is scheduled to arrive at the United States Capitol to deliver a formal petition.
The participant roster includes figures such as Lily Greenberg Call, who made headlines as the first Jewish official in the administration of former Joe Biden to resign publicly over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Human rights defender Matthew Rodríguez, who identifies as Hispanic, also joined the cross-country effort to question current federal spending priorities.
The Road Ahead for the National Tour
While the convoy cuts through America’s heartland with a small core group of fifty participants, its organizers face the logistical challenge of breaking through entrenched digital and political bubbles in states like Pennsylvania and Arizona. The focus remains fixed on the approaching November 3 election deadline, after which the balance of power in Washington may dictate how federal budgeting and foreign policy priorities are addressed in the new legislative session.
