jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Accelerating the adoption of 5G networks, the Ministry of Communication and Information opens an auction for the use of the 2.3GHz frequency for the purposes of organizing cellular mobile networks.
“The selection of 2.3 GHz radio frequency band users is aimed at increasing the capacity of cellular mobile networks, maximally improving service quality, as well as accelerating the deployment of ICT infrastructure with fifth-generation technology (5G),” said the Ministry of Communication and Information in a press release.
This selection of users of the 2.3GHz frequency band in the 2360-2390 MHz range is one way to support digital transformation in the economic, social and government sectors.
According to the Ministry of Communication and Information, currently there are still radio frequency blocks that have not been determined by frequency band users.
Based on Article 11 of the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 9 of 2018 concerning Operational Provisions and Licensing Procedures for Radio Frequency Spectrum Use, the auction has been opened, for three blocks of radio frequency bands.
This auction can only be participated by telecommunications operators that have a license to operate a Cellular Mobile Network.
Documents for auction participants can be collected at the Secretariat of the 2.3GHz Radio Frequency Band User Selection Team at Wisma Antara, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 24, 09.00-12.00.
Telecommunication companies wishing to take this selection document are required to submit a stamped power of attorney, signed by the company’s president director.
