AC Milan Enquire About Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund Amid Transfer Speculation
AC Milan has reportedly made an initial inquiry to Manchester United regarding the availability of striker Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish international, who joined United for a critically important fee of £72 million (£64 million plus £8 million in add-ons) from Atalanta, has faced scrutiny for his performances during the 2024/25 campaign. While Hojlund has expressed a desire to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his position, the prevailing expectation is that Manchester United will consider selling the 22-year-old if suitable offers are received, particularly with the anticipated arrival of a new striker. Hojlund’s struggles have led to speculation about a potential return to Italy.
According to Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan, having recently seen Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham depart, has approached Manchester United to gauge the “feasibility of the operation.” This interest is described as being in its very early stages.
Previous reports from Corriere dello Sport suggested that Manchester united would seek a transfer fee in the region of €45 million to €50 million (£38.8 million to £43.2 million) for Hojlund. This valuation may present a challenge for Milan, who reportedly ended their pursuit of Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson after learning of a £50 million asking price. A loan deal with an option or obligation to buy could be a potential avenue if Milan finds United’s valuation prohibitive.
Manchester United’s broader transfer strategy this summer includes making several players available for sale, with Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho all reportedly given the green light to depart.
