Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health of Egypt, revealed the circumstances of the death of a prisoner in the “Shubramant” Central Hospital in Giza Governorate, who died as a result of an accident inside the hospital’s elevator.
He stated that the accident occurred while the patient was being transported by an elevator after undergoing joint surgery, noting that the sudden movement of the elevator caused part of the patient’s body trapped inside and the other part outside, which caused her death.
He said that the investigative authorities and the Public Prosecutor are conducting a criminal investigation into what happened. (Arabic)
