Mayor Injured After Driver Fails Breathalyzer Test

While accompanying the Chief Inspector of the Local Police, **Telmo Martín**, the Mayor of Sangenjo, was injured early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle whose driver subsequently failed a breathalyzer test.
Details of the Incident
The incident took place around 6:00 a.m. near Plaza Do Mar when a car struck **Martín** during a reversing maneuver. The mayor was assisting with nighttime patrols typically conducted during the summer months.
Following the incident, **Telmo Martín** was transported by ambulance to Montecelo Hospital in Pontevedra, where he was diagnosed with a fissure in the tibia of his left leg.
According to municipal sources, while **Martín** has been discharged from the hospital, he will need to immobilize his leg for at least ten days. The mayor expressed his appreciation for the prompt and professional care he received from both the Local Police and the healthcare staff.
