An injury to AEW’s Penelope Ford has prompted a late change to the card for CMLL’s La Noche de Las Amazonas event this Friday in Mexico City. Ford will be replaced by Megan Bayne in a singles match against Olympia, according to announcements from CMLL earlier today.
Ford sustained the injury during an AEW Dynamite match on February 25th, while teaming with Bayne against Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles. While the severity of the injury has not been disclosed, it will prevent Ford from competing at La Noche de Las Amazonas.
Bayne’s appearance marks her debut in CMLL and her first professional wrestling match in Mexico. This will also be her first encounter with Olympia in singles competition.
Another match scheduled for the event will see Mina Shirakawa face Zeuxis. This will be Shirakawa’s second appearance in Mexico, following her participation in the 18-woman Team Mexico vs. Team World Torneo Cibernetico at CMLL International Women’s Grand Prix last October. Shirakawa and Zeuxis were both participants in that tournament.
Both Olympia and Zeuxis have previously wrestled on AEW television. Zeuxis challenged Mercedes Moné for the AEW TBS Championship last June, and subsequently lost to Moné for the CMLL World Women’s Championship the following week at Grand Slam Mexico. Olympia secured a victory over Taya Valkyrie in October, but then lost a challenge to Moné for the CMLL World Women’s Championship shortly after.
The current lineup for CMLL La Noche De Las Amazonas (March 6th) is as follows:
- CMLL World Women’s Championship Match: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Persephone
- CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Starlight Kid Mei Seira vs. Las Chicas Indomables (Lluvia & La Jarochita)
- Copa Irma González 2026: Marcela vs. Princesa Sugehit vs. La Magnifica
- Megan Bayne vs. Olympia
- Zeuxis vs. Mina Shirakawa
- Garra Negra & Keyra vs. La Catalina & Sanely
