Auron, in the Southern French Alps, is drawing attention as a favored winter escape for both celebrities and royalty. Model and actress Estelle Lefébure shared images from a weekend getaway to the resort on Saturday, February 28, 2026, posting to her Instagram story, although the location’s long-standing appeal to the Monaco royal family continues to be highlighted.
Lefébure’s post showcased a sunny scene from a slopeside terrace, decorated with plaids and furs, where she and friends enjoyed an après-ski gathering accompanied by music from DJ Moyo. She captioned the post simply, “Merci,” according to reports.
Auron has been a frequent destination for Stéphanie de Monaco and her family since the early 2000s. Following her marriage to acrobat Adans Lopez Peres, the princess chose to establish a family home in the village of Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, a roughly 90-minute drive from Monaco, with her children Louis, Pauline and Camille Ducruet. The Ducruet children even attended the local village school, enjoying a more private upbringing away from the principality.
The tradition continues with the next generation. Louis Ducruet, Stéphanie de Monaco’s eldest son, has been seen visiting Auron with his wife Marie and their daughter, Victoire, including a summer 2024 trip documented on Instagram. The family reportedly appreciates the area’s tranquility and natural beauty.
Auron itself is a former alpine village that has developed into a ski resort, situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters within the Mercantour massif. The resort boasts nearly 135 kilometers of ski runs, offering views of the Tinée valley. Stéphanie de Monaco is known to favor a low-key lifestyle during her visits, enjoying activities like skiing, ice skating, and traditional meals like raclette by the fireside.
