Barcelona – Xiaomi launched its flagship Xiaomi 17 series and a range of new devices at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 today, signaling a major push into global markets. The company unveiled the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones, alongside the Xiaomi Pad 8 series, Xiaomi Watch 5, and the Xiaomi Tag tracker.
The Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra, initially released in China last year, are among the first devices to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The Xiaomi 17 will start at €999, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be priced from €1,499, with availability across much of Europe. The base Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display, with options for 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of storage. It is powered by a 6,330 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is positioned as the premium offering, boasting significant camera upgrades. Xiaomi highlighted the inclusion of its first 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L image sensor, utilizing capacitor technology to enhance full-well capacity and HDR performance. A key feature is the Leica 200MP 75–100mm camera, incorporating a mechanical optical zoom. According to Xiaomi, this telephoto camera is built to Leica APO optical standards, minimizing ghosting and color fringing throughout the zoom range, and extending to a 400mm equivalent focal length.
The Ultra’s camera system also includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP front-facing camera. The device features a 6.9-inch display, up to 1TB of storage, and a 6,000 mAh battery supporting up to 90W charging.
Beyond the smartphones, Xiaomi introduced the Pad 8 series, featuring an 11.2-inch display and the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The tablet, with a 9,200 mAh battery, is designed with a slim 5.75mm profile and will be available starting at €449.99.
Xiaomi also entered the tracker market with the Xiaomi Tag, its first device compatible with the Android Find Hub network and Apple’s Find My network. The Xiaomi Tag is priced at €14.99.
The company’s new wearable, the Xiaomi Watch 5, runs Wear OS 6 and is powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 platform. It features a large 930 mAh silicon-carbon battery and introduces wrist gesture controls. Xiaomi states that users can dismiss calls, silence alarms, launch workouts, control the camera, and access apps like Google Gemini, Google Wallet, and YouTube Music through pinch, rub, snap, shake, and rotate gestures.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 will be available starting at €299.99. Additional products launched at MWC 2026 include the REDMI Buds 8 Pro, a 15W 5,000 mAh magnetic power bank, and a new range of electric scooters.
