Resident Evil Requiem: Launch Times & How to Play on PS5, Xbox, PC & Switch 2

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

The highly anticipated survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, is set to launch globally on February 27, 2026, Capcom announced. The release will unfold across different time zones, granting players in various regions access to the game as the date progresses. Capcom confirmed that pre-loading is now available, allowing players to download the game in advance of its official release.

Despite speculation, Capcom clarified that there will be no early access period for purchasers of the Digital Deluxe Edition. All players, regardless of the edition they purchase, will gain access to the game simultaneously based on their respective regional time zones. The Digital Deluxe Edition does, though, include exclusive cosmetic items and digital content, offering enhancements to the player experience.

Resident Evil Requiem will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), and the newly released Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first time a mainline Resident Evil title will launch day-and-date on all platforms, including Nintendo hardware. The game is being developed using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, which the company states delivers visuals with cinematic realism.

Release timings across key regions are as follows: in Los Angeles, the game will be available on both console and PC at 9:00 PM PST on February 26. Toronto and New York will see a launch at midnight EST on February 27 for both platforms. Players in London can access the game at 5:00 AM GMT on February 27, whereas Berlin will see a release at 6:00 AM CET on the same day. Further east, Tokyo and Singapore will launch at 2:00 PM and 1:00 PM JST and SGT respectively on February 27. In the Americas, São Paulo will gain access at 2:00 AM BRT on February 27, and Johannesburg at 7:00 AM SAST.

Capcom recommends players pre-load the game on their chosen platform to ensure a smooth launch day experience. Minimum PC specifications include a Ryzen 5 3500 or Intel i5-8500 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a GTX 1660 or RX 5500 XT graphics card. Recommended specifications step up to a Ryzen 5 5500 or i7-8700 processor paired with an RTX 2060 Super or RX 6600 graphics card.

Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth main installment in the Resident Evil series, and is set three decades after the destruction of Raccoon City. Capcom has not yet announced any post-launch content plans.
