Capri Sun is launching a limited-edition “Blood Moon Punch” flavor nationwide in the United States this month, building on the success of its 2025 “Moon Punch” release. The new product, featuring a bold red color, will be accompanied by eight glow-in-the-dark pouch designs depicting phases of the moon, according to a statement from The Kraft Heinz Company.
The introduction of Blood Moon Punch follows strong consumer and retailer demand for a follow-up to last year’s Moon Punch, which quickly became competitive with Capri Sun’s core flavors like Fruit Punch and Pacific Cooler. Retailers specifically requested a new iteration, prompting the development of a product tied to the upcoming “Blood Moon” lunar eclipse and increased public interest in space exploration, including NASA’s Artemis II mission.
Kraft Heinz emphasized that Blood Moon Punch is a newly developed, time-bound stock keeping unit (SKU) and not intended as a permanent addition to the Capri Sun product line. The company plans to support the launch with a digital campaign offering 10,000 free pouches to consumers.
The launch strategy reflects a broader trend in the ambient juice drinks category, where limited-time offerings driven by packaging innovation, experiential design, and cultural tie-ins are increasingly important for growth.
