Women’s T20 World Cup: England to Face Scotland & Ireland | Full Draw & Fixtures

England will face both Scotland and Ireland in group play at the Women’s T20 World Cup this summer, following the finalisation of the tournament draw. The matches will mark a historic first for cricket between the nations in the UK.

Scotland and Ireland secured their places in the 12-team competition after successfully navigating the qualifying tournament held in Nepal earlier this month. They have been drawn into Group Two alongside the tournament hosts, West Indies, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.

The fixture list reveals a particularly noteworthy match scheduled for Headingley on June 20th, where England and Scotland will meet in their first ever cricket World Cup encounter, regardless of gender. Ireland will then play England at Southampton on June 16th. The two qualifying teams will also face each other in their opening match of the tournament at Old Trafford on June 13th.

The tournament will commence on June 19th with England taking on Sri Lanka at Edgbaston. Bangladesh and the Netherlands also progressed through the qualifying rounds and will compete in Group One against Australia, South Africa, India, and Pakistan.

This year’s tournament represents the largest Women’s T20 World Cup to date, featuring twelve teams. New Zealand will enter the competition as the defending champions, having won the title in the United Arab Emirates two years ago. This will be the first Women’s T20 World Cup held in England since the inaugural tournament in 2009.

Beyond Old Trafford, Headingley, and Southampton, Bristol will also host group stage matches. The semi-finals are scheduled to grab place at The Oval on June 30th and July 2nd, culminating in the final at Lord’s on July 5th.
