The PlayStation VR2 headset is now available for $299 at Amazon, a significant price reduction from its original launch price of $399.99, according to multiple reports.
The current deal, announced December 8, 2025, represents a 25% discount on the headset, and includes the VR2 Sense controllers. The bundle also includes a copy of Horizon Call of the Mountain, a title frequently cited as a showcase for the headset’s capabilities, according to Android Central.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s price cut is a strategic move to revitalize the virtual reality market, as sales of the PSVR2 have lagged behind initial projections. Industry analysts estimate fewer than 1.5 million units have been sold worldwide in the first two years since its February 2023 launch, as reported by CordcuttersNews. The PlayStation VR2 requires a PlayStation 5 console to operate.
