Images purporting to show a fully assembled Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra have surfaced online, offering an early look at the forthcoming flagship smartphone. The leak, initially shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @KaroulSahil and reported by Sammyfans, provides a detailed view of the device ahead of its official unveiling.
The leaked images suggest the S26 Ultra represents an iterative refinement of Samsung’s design language, rather than a radical departure. The device features subtly rounded corners, a shift away from the sharper aesthetic of previous generations. The front-facing camera notch appears larger, and the rear camera arrangement maintains Samsung’s established design identity.
Notably, Samsung has opted to retain individual camera rings, contrasting with the increasingly prevalent large camera modules seen on devices from brands like Vivo and Oppo. This approach results in a cleaner, more minimalist rear surface, according to the images.
The leak included side-by-side comparisons with competing devices expected to launch in 2026. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is depicted as maintaining its squared-off design with thick side bezels and a triangular camera layout. The Vivo X300 showcases a substantial circular camera module, while the Oppo Find X9 Pro utilizes a rectangular island to house its sensors.
In profile, the S26 Ultra appears marginally thinner than the Vivo X300 and comparable in thickness to the Oppo Find X9 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Max remains the most robust-looking device in terms of perceived rigidity.
Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series will be unveiled on February 25, 2026, at an event in San Francisco, according to announcements from Android Central and CNET. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 pm ET / 10 am PT. Reservations for the new devices are currently open, with Samsung offering potential savings of up to $900, as reported by 9to5Google.
The Galaxy S26 series will include the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra, succeeding the Galaxy S25 lineup. Samsung recently released the Galaxy Z TriFold, a dual-hinge foldable device, at a price of $2,899 in the US, which sold out quickly after its launch, CNET reported. The company has not yet detailed which products beyond the S26 series will be showcased at the Unpacked event.
Samsung’s launch event precedes Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona by a week. The company is teasing camera upgrades for the S26 Ultra, with a focus on enhanced video zoom capabilities, potentially exceeding the current 25-30x limit found on Ultra-level phones. There are also reports of Samsung testing a 200MP telephoto sensor for inclusion in the S26 Ultra, mirroring developments from competitors like Honor and Vivo.
