Viña del Mar, Chile – A panel of fashion critics participating in the “Only Viña” segment delivered scathing reviews of celebrity attire at the 2026 Gala de Viña, held Friday evening at the Sporting Club. The annual event, which precedes the main Festival de Viña, saw prominent figures from Chilean and international entertainment gather on the red carpet, but not all looks were met with approval.
Daniela Aránguiz, a panelist, singled out her former partner, Luis Mateucci, for criticism. “I don’t know what tablecloth he got his suit from, the fabric is horrible, very John Travolta-esque. I swear it’s not personal,” she stated, according to reports.
Journalist Roberto Cox also drew fire from Marcelo Marocchino, who took issue with Cox’s choice of footwear. Marocchino criticized Cox for wearing laced shoes without socks, and also questioned his choice of shorts and a scarf. Ivan Grubessich was particularly harsh in his assessment of Marlen Olivari’s ensemble, stating, “I don’t understand her headpiece. The color of the suit doesn’t suit her, it widens her, it makes her look fat. It’s awful, nothing goes with it.”
Other celebrities targeted by the panel included Jean Philippe Cretton, criticized by Mauricio Correa, and Miss Universo Fátima Bosch, who received negative comments from both José Antonio Neme and Tonka Tomicic. Raquel Argandoña echoed those sentiments, describing Bosch’s outfit as “horrible, appalling, for a Miss Universe, horrible.”
The Gala de Viña officially opened the week-long festival, with the first night of the main event scheduled for Sunday, February 22nd. Gloria Estefan is set to headline the opening night, marking her debut performance at the Quinta Vergara. She will be joined by comedian Stefan Kramer, appearing for his fourth time, and Italian singer Matteo Bocelli. The festival will be broadcast live on Mega Go, with full routines and shows available on demand with a “Full” plan subscription.
