Angel City FC faced off against Seattle Reign FC on Thursday, February 21, 2026, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, as part of the Coachella Valley Invitational. The match began at 1:30 PM PT, according to a social media post from Angel City FC.

The Coachella Valley Invitational, now in its second year, has quickly become a key preseason event for both Major League Soccer (MLS) and the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). This year’s tournament features a record number of teams, with 12 MLS clubs and 9 NWSL clubs participating, according to a December 17, 2025, announcement from the event organizers.

Seattle Reign FC is participating in the Invitational for the second consecutive year. The club is joined by five other NWSL teams: Angel City FC, Denver Summit FC, Houston Dash, Portland Thorns FC, and San Diego Wave FC. Passes for all competition dates went on sale October 16, 2025, at 10 a.m. PT via the Coachella Valley Invitational website.

The Coachella Valley Invitational is hosted at the Empire Polo Club, the same venue as the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. The site is managed by Goldenvoice, a Los Angeles-based concert promoter owned by AEG Presents. The event offers fans access to up to five matches in a single day, providing opportunities to observe player and club preparations for the upcoming MLS and NWSL seasons.

Early Bird pricing for General Admission Day Passes began at $34, while General Admission Weekend Passes (February 7-8 and February 14-15) started at $68. Early Bird pricing concluded on January 5, 2026. The addition of the LA Galaxy, Utah Royals, Bay FC, and Kansas City Current contributed to the record number of teams participating in the 2026 tournament.

San Diego Wave FC was originally scheduled to participate but was unable to join the other 21 clubs due to their selection in the Concacaf Champions Cup Draw.

The match between Angel City FC and Seattle Reign FC was broadcast on Fox 13+ in Seattle and Fox 11+ in Los Angeles.
