Sunn O))) Announces New Album, “Butch’s Guns,” + 2024 Tour Dates

Drone metal collective Sunn O))) released a new track, “Butch’s Guns,” today, February 19, 2026, signaling the impending arrival of their self-titled album on April 3 via Sub Pop Records. The release coincides with the announcement of a European tour leg extending their previously revealed North American dates.

“Butch’s Guns” follows the band’s January release of “Glory,” offering another glimpse into the sonic landscape of their forthcoming record. Sunn O))) signed with Sub Pop in October 2025, initially marking the partnership with the release of singles “Eternity’s Pillars,” “Raise the Chalice,” and “Reverential.”

The European tour is set to begin on June 23 in Zurich, Switzerland, at Rote Frank. From there, the band will perform in Antwerp, Belgium (June 24). Amsterdam, Netherlands (June 25); Köln, Germany (June 26); Bristol, England (June 28); Brighton, England (June 29); Liverpool, England (June 30); Leeds, England (July 1); Birmingham, England (July 2); London, England (July 3); Berlin, Germany (July 6 and 7). Additional dates are expected to be announced.

Tickets for the European shows go on sale Friday, February 20 at 10 am CET. The North American tour, supporting the new album, is already underway with dates scheduled through April 25, including stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas and New York. The band will play the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on March 30 and the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon on April 25.

Sunn O)))’s most recent studio albums, Life Metal and Pyroclasts, were released in 2019. In 2021, the band released Metta, Benevolence, a live album comprised of a recording from a BBC Radio 6 Music show hosted by Mary Anne Hobbs.
