Madrid is experiencing a surge in visits from international celebrities, with actor Walton Goggins the latest to publicly document his exploration of the Spanish capital. Goggins, known for his roles in “The White Lotus” and “Fallout,” has shared glimpses of his Madrid itinerary via Instagram, highlighting both well-known landmarks and local experiences.
The actor’s travels included a visit to the La Latina neighborhood, where he filmed himself attempting the chotis, a traditional Madrid dance, on the Cava Baja street. He also explored the CaixaForum museum, currently hosting an exhibition dedicated to the work of Henri Matisse, which is scheduled to close in just six days. The exhibition, according to museum materials, traces the artist’s development from his early self-portraits to the artistic freedom of his later gouaches.
Goggins’s tour also took him to the Palacio de Longoria, a modernist building often referred to as the headquarters of the SGAE (Spain’s authors’ and publishers’ association). He photographed the building’s exterior, seemingly impressed by its architecture. He also spent time at El Rastro, Madrid’s famous open-air flea market, expressing his fascination with the bustling atmosphere, describing it as “particularly special.”
In a social media post accompanying his photos, Goggins wrote, “Some people love connecting with the world as much as I do… But nobody loves it more. No expectations. Simply wonder. SPAIN. This city, these people… Good morning to all.”
Goggins’s visit follows recent trips to Madrid by other celebrities, including Rosalía, who chose a soccer team based on its colors, and Dua Lipa, who has been observed showcasing a 2025 take on Y2K fashion. The influx of high-profile visitors suggests Madrid is becoming an increasingly popular destination for those seeking culture, cuisine, and a vibrant urban experience.
