The co-op horror adventure game Reanimal, developed by Tarsier Studios and published by THQ Nordic, launched on February 13, 2026 and is already garnering critical acclaim for its intense, collaborative gameplay. The title is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Created by the team behind Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, Reanimal casts players as a brother and sister navigating a fractured island to rescue their missing friends. Players must function together, communicating to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles in a harrowing environment. The game’s relatively short length – approximately 10 hours – is being praised as a benefit for players seeking a focused cooperative experience.

IGN Spain awarded Reanimal a score of 9/10, describing it as “a darker and more unsettling story that masterfully addresses a truth we all recognize: no one escapes their fate… though that doesn’t indicate you won’t try.” The publication highlighted the game’s atmosphere, anticipating that it will inspire community discussion and interpretation. Metacritic currently lists the game with a score of 80/100.

The game’s cooperative focus is central to the experience. Players are required to coordinate their actions, interacting with objects and progressing through the environment as a team. A Deluxe Edition of the game is available, including a season pass with three DLC chapters and two additional character skins.

Reanimal’s plot centers on two siblings returning to an island that has undergone a catastrophic change. The island is divided into three sections, each holding a friend in need of rescue. As the players progress, they uncover the truth behind the island’s destruction. Characters include “The Boy,” controlled by Player One, and “The Girl,” controlled by Player Two, along with rescued friends like “Hood” and pursuing figures like “Sniffer.”
