Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium played host to a historic night of martial arts competition on Friday, February 13, as ONE Championship showcased a double-header of events – ONE Friday Fights 142 and ONE Fight Night 40 – live on Prime Video. The events culminated in two new world champions being crowned and a series of compelling matchups across Muay Thai, MMA, kickboxing, and submission grappling.

The main event of ONE Fight Night 40 saw Stella Hemetsberger defeat Jackie Buntan by split decision to become the ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion, adding the kickboxing title to her existing ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship. Hemetsberger’s victory makes her Austria’s first-ever two-sport ONE World Champion and only the third female striker in ONE Championship history to achieve the distinction.

The co-main event delivered another championship bout, with Nico Carrillo claiming the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Title after a unanimous decision victory over Shadow Singha Mawynn. Carrillo’s win sets the stage for a unification bout against the current divisional king, Tawanchai PK Saenchai, upon his return from injury.

ONE Friday Fights 142, which preceded ONE Fight Night 40, featured a 14-bout card with athletes vying for a life-changing $100,000 contract with ONE Championship. The card showcased a diverse range of martial arts disciplines, including Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA. In the main event of ONE Friday Fights 142, Apiwat Sor Somnuk faced Panpadej NF Looksuan in a flyweight Muay Thai clash, while the co-main event featured Donking Yotharakmuaythai against Gregor Thom, too in flyweight Muay Thai action.

Beyond the championship contests, ONE Fight Night 40 featured several other notable results. Adrian Lee secured a TKO victory over Shozo Isojima in an MMA bout, rebounding from the first loss of his professional career. Hu Yong defeated Danny Kingad by TKO in the first round of their MMA match, while Ben Tynan submitted Ryugo Takeuchi with an arm-triangle choke. Lucas Gabriel earned a unanimous decision win over Magomed Akaev in MMA action, and Fabricio Andrey also secured a unanimous decision victory against Joao Mendes in submission grappling. Jihin Radzuan defeated Gabriela Fujimoto by TKO in the third round of their MMA contest.

The event also marked the beginning of a new broadcast deal between ONE Championship and ESPN in Australia and New Zealand, expanding the reach of the organization’s live events.
