Belkin’s ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter, unveiled at CES 2026 and now available for purchase, offers a cable-free alternative for mirroring content from USB-C devices to HDMI displays. The adapter, priced at $149.99, establishes a direct 5GHz wireless link between a transmitter plugged into a laptop, tablet, or smartphone and a receiver connected to a television or monitor, eliminating the need for traditional HDMI cables or wireless casting applications.
The ConnectAir, model AVC024, is comprised of two components: a USB-C transmitter and an HDMI receiver. Unlike streaming devices, it’s designed for direct screen mirroring. The system operates without requiring software downloads, Wi-Fi connections, or Bluetooth pairing. Belkin states the adapter supports 1080p resolution at 60Hz, with latency typically under 80 milliseconds, providing smooth video playback. However, the adapter’s support for HDCP 1.4 means some 4K content protected by HDCP 2.2 may be incompatible.
The device boasts a wireless range of up to 131 feet in open environments, though this range is expected to be significantly reduced by obstructions like walls. Compatibility is limited to USB-C devices that support DisplayPort Alt Mode, including Windows laptops, macOS and ChromeOS devices, and tablets like the iPad Pro and iPad Air. Notably, the ConnectAir is not compatible with iPhones or other devices utilizing Apple’s Lightning connector.
A single HDMI receiver can connect with up to eight transmitters, though only one device can stream content at a time. Users can switch between mirrored and extended display modes, depending on the capabilities of their connected device. The HDMI receiver can be powered via a television’s USB port, provided it delivers at least 2.3 watts; otherwise, a separate power adapter is required, and is not included with the device.
Belkin likewise showcased a range of other novel accessories at CES 2026, including Qi2 25W wireless chargers, high-capacity power banks, and a charging case for the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2, featuring a 10,000mAh power bank and LCD screen for battery life monitoring. The Nintendo Switch 2 charging case, priced at $99.99, is currently available on Belkin’s website in select markets.
