Nürnberg, Germany – The world’s leading trade fair for organic food, BIOFACH, is scheduled to take place at the Messezentrum Nürnberg from February 16th to 19th, 2027. The event, which began in 1990 at the Stadthalle Ludwigshafen, has grown to become a central meeting point for the international organic food industry.

Last year’s edition of BIOFACH drew 35,000 professional visitors from 140 countries and hosted 2,300 exhibitors from 94 countries, according to organizers. The fair showcases the entire value chain of organic food, from production to processing and trade, and as well includes non-food organic products like natural cosmetics.

BIOFACH serves as a platform for networking and knowledge exchange, featuring round table discussions, presentations, and open forums. All exhibited organic food products are certified according to EU organic regulations or the accreditation guidelines of IFOAM, the international organic agriculture movement.

In 2026, India has been designated as the “Country of the Year” for BIOFACH, highlighting the growing importance of the Indian organic market. The fair also hosts the world’s largest trade fair for organic wine, with approximately 300 wine exhibitors from over 20 nations participating.

Alongside the trade fair, the city of Nürnberg will host a week-long series of events called “Biofach meets Nürnberg” in February 2025, focusing on nutrition, ecological products, and sustainable food practices. These events will offer citizens opportunities to participate in cooking demonstrations, explore organic foods, and learn about responsible food consumption.

The BIOFACH fair in Nürnberg is not only a business event but also a significant gathering for the organic food community, fostering innovation and collaboration within the sector. The event aims to provide a space for professionals to explore new trends, share insights, and establish connections across the organic food industry.
