A Jet2 flight traveling from Antalya, Turkey, to Manchester, England, was forced to divert to Brussels, Belgium, on February 14, 2026, after a violent altercation broke out between two passengers, according to reports from multiple news outlets.

The incident began with one passenger allegedly making racially charged insults and attempting to snatch a mobile phone from another passenger who was listening to music, according to accounts from those onboard the flight. Witnesses reported the individual had been consuming alcohol during the flight. The situation quickly escalated into a physical fight, prompting concern for the safety of passengers and crew.

The captain of flight LS896 made the decision to land at Brussels Airport as a precautionary measure, activating emergency protocols to ensure the safety of all those on board. Upon arrival, Belgian police boarded the aircraft and apprehended the two passengers involved in the disturbance. Authorities confirmed no serious injuries were reported as a result of the fight.

Jet2 has confirmed the incident and stated that both passengers involved have been banned for life from flying with the airline. “We have a zero-tolerance approach to violent, abusive, or discriminatory behavior,” the airline said in a statement. “The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our absolute priority.”
