A leak from the Czech Republic indicates that Xiaomi’s forthcoming Watch 5 smartwatch will be priced around 7,990 CZK (approximately $391 USD) for the 47mm model, signaling an imminent European launch. The device, initially released in China in December 2025, is expected to arrive in Europe running Google’s Wear OS, marking a shift from the HyperOS integration found in the China-only version.
The global Xiaomi Watch 5 will be available in Black and Juniper Green color options, according to the leak. The smartwatch features a 1.54-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480×480 pixels and a brightness of up to 1,500 nits. Its design incorporates a 316L stainless steel case and sapphire glass, with a water resistance rating of 5 ATM.
Internally, the Watch 5 utilizes a dual-chip architecture, combining a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 processor with a co-processor designed for efficient, always-on health tracking. Xiaomi claims battery life of up to six days in typical use and over 18 days in power-saving mode. The device also includes advanced health sensors, including those for ECG and SpO2 monitoring, as well as a novel EMG (electromyography) sensor.
The EMG sensor allows for gesture control, enabling users to interact with the watch – and potentially their connected phone – through hand muscle signals, such as pinching or clenching. This feature, alongside the Wear OS integration, positions the Watch 5 as a direct competitor to smartwatches like the Google Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch series.
While specifications for the global model are expected to align with the Chinese version, the transition to Wear OS will provide access to Google Play and associated services. The watch’s bezel measures just 2.6mm, contributing to a modern, nearly bezel-less aesthetic. It is equipped with fluororubber straps designed for comfortable wear.
