Central Florida Weather: Rain Possible Monday, Warm Weekend Ahead

by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Orlando residents can expect a warm Valentine’s Day weekend, but a shift in weather is anticipated late Sunday, potentially impacting Monday morning commutes. Temperatures will steadily rise through Saturday, reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees inland, with slightly cooler conditions along the coast.

Whereas a brief, isolated coastal shower is possible south of Cape Canaveral on Saturday, most areas are forecast to remain dry. Sunday will bring even warmer temperatures, with inland highs potentially reaching the low 80s, accompanied by increasing cloud cover.

A cold front approaching Central Florida will increase rain chances late Sunday. Showers are expected to develop after sunset and continue overnight into early Monday, creating potentially slick road conditions for the morning commute. Current forecasts predict rainfall totals will be light to moderate, generally remaining under a half inch, though the precise timing of the front remains subject to change.

Beyond the approaching front, drier and warmer weather is expected to return Tuesday through Thursday, with temperatures climbing back into the 80s under mostly clear skies.

For those seeking Valentine’s Day weekend activities, options include the Harbor Nights Romantico event at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel on Friday, featuring unlimited bites and sips, live music, and an opera performance. Tickets for the event, priced at $114, are still available. The Orlando Ballet’s performance of “Carmen” at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts continues through February 15th, with tickets starting at $29. Dezerland Park, the largest indoor attraction in Florida, will host a Valentine’s-inspired market with handcrafted gifts. Polasek Nights at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens and a Valentine’s Day party at Howl at the Moon Orlando are also scheduled.
