Qatar PM Meets Finnish President at Munich Security Conference | Relations & Regional Issues Discussed

Finnish President Alexander Stubb met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, today in Munich, Germany, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation between Finland and Qatar, exploring avenues for strengthening and expanding their relationship. Discussions also encompassed current regional and international developments, as well as matters of mutual concern, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Finland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, attended the meeting alongside President Stubb and Sheikh Mohammed. The encounter took place as international leaders gather in Munich for the annual Security Conference, a forum dedicated to addressing global security challenges.

The official Qatar News Agency reported that the discussions were held on February 13, 2026. Both sides reportedly expressed a desire to bolster ties, though specific details of proposed initiatives were not immediately released.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also held meetings with other international figures during the Munich Security Conference, including discussions with the President of the Australian House of Representatives and the Saudi Ambassador, as reported by Marsal Qatar.
