Lewis Howes Calls Out Barstool Sports Over Handball Take | TikTok Recap

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

A TikTok video posted by user @lewis, alleging that Barstool Sports is “delusional,” has sparked online debate. The video, which has gained traction on the platform, does not specify the reason for the accusation, but has prompted discussion about the sports and media company’s public image.

The claim comes amid a period of heightened scrutiny for former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, a frequent subject of Barstool Sports content. Cutler recently completed a two-and-a-half-day jail sentence in October 2024 following a DUI arrest in Franklin, Tennessee. Bodycam footage released in October 2025 showed Cutler initially denying alcohol consumption to police before admitting to having “a little bit.” He was also involved in an incident where he allegedly offered the other driver involved in the accident $2,000 not to contact law enforcement.

Barstool Sports has extensively covered Cutler, featuring him in blogs, videos, and podcasts. In January 2024, Cutler weighed in on the debate surrounding Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, criticizing the team’s offensive game plans. The company also documented a 2021 incident where Devin Hester, a former Bears player, stated Cutler was the worst leader he had ever played with. More recently, in August 2022, Barstool Sports reported on Cutler’s relationship with Kristin Cavallari, following her appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast where she described him as “toxic.”

Cutler’s activities continue to generate media attention. In September 2021, Barstool Chicago reported that Cutler was considering several business ventures pitched by the company. The same month, reports surfaced alleging Cutler was dating Jana Kramer, who had a prior connection to Cavallari. The former NFL player was also reportedly sued in September 2024 by the driver of the vehicle he hit, with the plaintiff claiming physical and mental suffering.

As of February 12, 2026, Barstool Sports has not publicly responded to the TikTok user’s claim of being “delusional.”
