Plane Emergency Landing Causes Multi-Vehicle Crash in Gainesville, Georgia

A single-engine aircraft made an emergency landing on a busy roadway in Gainesville, Georgia, on Monday, February 9, 2026, colliding with at least three vehicles and causing minor injuries to those involved. The incident occurred on Browns Bridge Road, according to local authorities.

The aircraft, identified as a Hawker Beechcraft BE-36, reportedly experienced engine failure approximately an hour after departing from Blountville, Tennessee. Data from flight tracking sources indicate the pilot attempted an emergency landing on the roadway. Upon descent, the plane struck a Mustang, an SUV, and at least one other vehicle before coming to rest near a Golden Corral restaurant.

Gainesville Police confirmed that both the pilot and passenger aboard the aircraft, as well as the drivers of the impacted vehicles, sustained only minor injuries and received immediate medical attention at the scene. No fatalities were reported. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the engine failure and the subsequent emergency landing.

Video footage of the aftermath, circulating on social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram, shows the aircraft positioned amongst damaged vehicles on the roadway. The incident prompted a temporary closure of Browns Bridge Road as emergency crews worked to secure the scene and assess the damage.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not provided a timeline for the reopening of Browns Bridge Road.
