Stolen E-Bike Returned too Owner After Two-Year Search, Thanks to Facebook Page
Como, Italy – A milan resident has been reunited with his electric bicycle more than two years after it was stolen, thanks to a sharp-eyed recovery by the Como Provincial Police and the Milan Local polices “Bikes stolen and found” Facebook page.The e-bike, valued at approximately 1,500 euros, was recently recovered during a routine traffic stop.
The recovery is part of a recent string of successes, with police now having returned three stolen e-bikes to their owners in recent months through collaborative data matching between the two police forces. the owner was able to positively identify his bike from photographs posted on the Facebook page,managed by the Milan Local Police,dedicated to reuniting stolen bicycles with their rightful owners.
The e-bike was originally stolen from a residence in milan in 2023. In Febuary, a patrol with the Como Provincial Police intercepted a truck with Moroccan license plates on Via Napoleona. Officers, acting on suspicions about the vehicle’s occupants, initiated a check. One individual fled the scene, while two Moroccan citizens remaining in the truck were identified and reported for receiving stolen goods.
