U.S. International Trade Commission Adjusts Timetable for Anti-Dumping Investigation of Prestressed Concrete Steel Wire Strand
The U.S.International Trade Commission (ITC) has revised its schedule for an investigation concerning imports of prestressed concrete steel wire strand from Brazil, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and Thailand. The adjustments stem from a recent lapse in appropriations that temporarily halted Commission operations. Originally initiated October 1, 2025, following a notice published in the Federal Register (90 FR 47337), the investigation assesses weather imports of this product materially injure or threaten injury to the domestic industry.
this proceeding impacts manufacturers, industrial users, and perhaps consumers of prestressed concrete steel wire strand in the United states. The ITC’s determination could lead to the imposition of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imports from the named countries, affecting construction costs and supply chains. The revised schedule now requires responses to the initial notice of institution by December 17, 2025, and comments regarding the adequacy of those responses, as well as requests for expedited or full review, by January 27, 2026. The deadline to enter an appearance as a party in the proceeding has been extended by 47 days from the original October 1, 2025, publication date.
Further details regarding the investigation can be found in the Commission’s notice (90 FR 47337) and within the ITC’s Rules of Practise and Procedure, specifically 19 CFR part 201, subparts A and B, and part 207, subparts A, D, E, and F. The investigation is being conducted under the authority of title VII of the Tariff Act of 1930 and is published pursuant to section 207.62 of the Commission’s rules.
