Port Blair, Nov. 28: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ boxing team delivered a stunning performance at the 8th National Boxing Championship 2025, securing a total of nine medals at the event held from November 21st to 24th at SM boxing Club, Alipur, Delhi. The championship, organized by the Boxing Progress Federation of India, featured competition across U-12 Sub Junior, Youth, and Senior Men & Women categories.
This remarkable showing underscores the growing strength of boxing within the islands and highlights the dedication of its athletes and coaches. the success provides a significant boost to the sport’s profile in the region, possibly inspiring increased participation and investment in boxing programs. The team’s achievements are expected to fuel further development and competitive opportunities for young boxers in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Leading the charge was coach Bikram Pariyar from Mayabunder, who not only guided the team to success but also clinched the India Champion Title Fight and was recognized as the best coach of the championship.
