Cuba Alleges U.S. Military Activity Causes Electromagnetic Interference Over Venezuela
HAVANA – Cuban Foreign minister Bruno Rodríguez Parilla denounced what he described as persistent electromagnetic interference over the Caribbean, specifically above Venezuelan airspace, attributing it to the “offensive adn extraordinary military deployment of the USA in the region.” The statement, made November 29, 2025, alleges the interference is part of an escalation of military aggression.
The accusation comes amid heightened tensions following a U.S. warning to international airlines about safety risks when flying over Venezuela due to increased military activity.this prompted several carriers to suspend flights to the country, a move Caracas responded to by revoking the operating licenses of six airlines, including Gol and Latam, after demanding services be resumed within 48 hours.
Rodríguez Parilla’s statement, posted on X (formerly Twitter), reads: “We denounce persistent electromagnetic interference in the caribbean, particularly over the airspace of #Venezuela caused by the offensive and extraordinary military deployment of #USA in the region. It is part of the escalation of military aggression and war…”
The U.S. Federal aviation Administration’s safety warning followed an announcement by former U.S. President Donald Trump advising international companies to “consider Venezuela’s airspace closed.” The situation impacts international travel and raises concerns about regional stability. Cuba and Venezuela maintain close political and economic ties, and Havana has consistently voiced support for the Venezuelan government.
