Miss Universe Owner Linked to Fuel Trafficking Network, mexican Prosecutors Implicated
A fuel trafficking network allegedly orchestrated by Raúl Rocha Cantú, the current owner of Miss Universe, involved payments to officials within the Mexican Attorney General’s Office (FGR), according to documents obtained during a raid in Mexico city. The inquiry centers on alleged illicit dealings involving stolen fuel and compromised investigations, raising questions about corruption within Mexican law enforcement.
The evidence, stemming from a search of a home in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood, includes notebooks detailing payments - some in the “hundreds of thousands of pesos” – alongside the acronyms for FGR offices in Querétaro and Mexico City, and also the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Matters of organized Crime (FEMDO).The network’s alleged operations possibly impacted Mexico’s energy sector and undermined the rule of law, with ongoing investigations expected to reveal the full scope of the alleged corruption.
Documents specifically implicate Mari Carmen ramírez Rodríguez, a public servant with FEMDO’s Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Crimes in the Matter of Hydrocarbons, copyright, Assault and Vehicle Theft. The records allege Ramírez Rodríguez met frequently with Jacobo Reyes León, allegedly a key figure in the trafficking operation, at restaurants in Mexico City and even within the FEMDO offices.
According to the documents, Ramírez Rodríguez allegedly received money from the organization in exchange for providing information and influencing investigations related to its members. Investigators reportedly observed Ramírez Rodríguez entering a vehicle with Reyes León near the FEMDO offices shortly after reyes León informed his wife via phone that he was going to deliver money to a FEMDO prosecutor.
