lotte Foundation Invests $45,000 in Future Vietnamese Leaders
Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – November 24, 2024 - The Lotte foundation today announced the recipients of its “Shin Kyuk-ho Lotte Global Scholarships 2025,” awarding $45,000 (66 million won) to 100 outstanding Vietnamese students across ten universities.the scholarships, presented in simultaneous ceremonies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, represent a significant investment in the next generation of vietnamese talent and a continued commitment to educational support in Southeast Asia.
This year’s awards build on the Lotte Foundation’s long-term dedication to fostering global leadership. The scholarships aim to empower promising students to excel in their studies and contribute to both Vietnam’s development and the broader international community. Each student will receive a $450 (approximately) individual scholarship,providing crucial financial assistance for educational pursuits.
The 100 scholarship winners were selected through a competitive process following recommendations from the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). Since its inception in 2008,the Shin Kyuk-ho Lotte Global Scholarship Foundation has provided nearly $1.23 million (1.7 billion won) in scholarships to Vietnamese students.
The foundation’s reach extends beyond Vietnam, currently operating in Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines, having supported almost 7,000 students wiht over $3.8 billion won in scholarships overall.
“Lotte Hotel and several subsidiaries of the group have been established in Vietnam for many years,” stated Jang Hye-seon, president of the Lotte Foundation. “Through these scholarships, we wish to encourage Vietnamese students not only to become leaders in their country, but to strive for global excellence through rigorous and ambitious training.”
