Suicide Attack Kills ⁤Six at Pakistani Security ⁣Headquarters in‌ Peshawar

A suicide attack targeting teh headquarters of the Federal Constabulary (FC) in Peshawar, ‍Pakistan, on ⁢Monday, November 24, 2025, resulted in the‍ deaths of six individuals – three FC personnel and‌ three⁢ attackers – and injured at least⁢ six civilians.

According to initial ‍reports, three suicide bombers ‌launched the attack. One detonated explosives at the main gate ⁤of the complex, killing three FC officers⁤ stationed there. Two other attackers attempted to breach the premises⁤ but were shot and killed by FC personnel.

Peshawar Police⁤ Chief Saeed Ahmad told the Associated Press that a large number of security personnel were ⁢conducting morning parade drills on open ground within the⁤ headquarters when the attack occured. “The terrorists involved in today’s attack were on foot and failed to reach the parade area and ‌a timely response by our forces prevented‌ a much larger tragedy,”⁢ he⁢ stated.

The ⁤FC headquarters is situated in a⁢ densely populated area of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Security forces have cordoned off the area following the ‌incident.

The injured civilians were transported to Lady Reading Hospital ⁣and Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar, where a ‍hospital spokesman confirmed thay were all⁤ in stable condition. Both hospitals have declared an emergency.

No‍ group has yet ⁣claimed duty for the ⁤attack. However, suspicion has fallen on‌ the‌ Pakistan Taliban, also⁤ known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan⁢ (TPP), who have been linked to similar attacks in the ⁢contry, which has recently experienced‌ an increase in violence. The TPP is allied with, ‌but separate from, the Afghan Taliban.

The attack occurred less ⁢than two weeks after a ‍suicide bombing outside⁢ a‍ court in Islamabad killed 12 people. This recent surge in attacks has strained relations between Pakistan and‍ the taliban government ⁣in Afghanistan, with Pakistan accusing the TPP of operating from within ‌Afghanistan as the Taliban takeover in 2021.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Peshawar attack, praising the security forces’⁢ “timely” response and calling for the perpetrators ⁣to ‍be brought to justice. ⁣”We will thwart the evil designs of terrorists who attack Pakistan’s integrity,” he said in a statement.‌ President Asif⁤ Ali zardari ⁢also “strongly” condemned⁤ the attack and offered “heartfelt condolences”⁤ while commending ⁢the courage of the security‍ forces in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
