Suicide Attack Kills Six at Pakistani Security Headquarters in Peshawar
A suicide attack targeting teh headquarters of the Federal Constabulary (FC) in Peshawar, Pakistan, on Monday, November 24, 2025, resulted in the deaths of six individuals – three FC personnel and three attackers – and injured at least six civilians.
According to initial reports, three suicide bombers launched the attack. One detonated explosives at the main gate of the complex, killing three FC officers stationed there. Two other attackers attempted to breach the premises but were shot and killed by FC personnel.
Peshawar Police Chief Saeed Ahmad told the Associated Press that a large number of security personnel were conducting morning parade drills on open ground within the headquarters when the attack occured. “The terrorists involved in today’s attack were on foot and failed to reach the parade area and a timely response by our forces prevented a much larger tragedy,” he stated.
The FC headquarters is situated in a densely populated area of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Security forces have cordoned off the area following the incident.
The injured civilians were transported to Lady Reading Hospital and Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar, where a hospital spokesman confirmed thay were all in stable condition. Both hospitals have declared an emergency.
No group has yet claimed duty for the attack. However, suspicion has fallen on the Pakistan Taliban, also known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TPP), who have been linked to similar attacks in the contry, which has recently experienced an increase in violence. The TPP is allied with, but separate from, the Afghan Taliban.
The attack occurred less than two weeks after a suicide bombing outside a court in Islamabad killed 12 people. This recent surge in attacks has strained relations between Pakistan and the taliban government in Afghanistan, with Pakistan accusing the TPP of operating from within Afghanistan as the Taliban takeover in 2021.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Peshawar attack, praising the security forces’ “timely” response and calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. ”We will thwart the evil designs of terrorists who attack Pakistan’s integrity,” he said in a statement. President Asif Ali zardari also “strongly” condemned the attack and offered “heartfelt condolences” while commending the courage of the security forces in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
